Concealed SteelCore frameSteel carries the load; wood defines the look. Heights: 350 / 700 / 1,400 mm.

Engineering

Two technologies. One module.

Wood creates the appearance; steel carries the load. This separation of roles distinguishes an architectural system from a conventional timber fence.

BirchCore™

Prepared birch elements: kiln drying, preservative treatment, sealed end grain and individual replacement without dismantling the entire section.

  • Cylindrical elements, Ø65 mm
  • Element height up to 1,400 mm; section length up to 2,000 mm
  • Sealed end grain prevents moisture contact
  • Ventilation gap and no ground contact

SteelCore™

A concealed galvanised steel structure and connection system maintain the geometry and resist wind loads. Birch forms the visible outer layer.

  • Steel end posts and internal frame
  • Standardised connections for quick assembly
  • Separate warranties for the frame, coating and wood
  • One day to install a ready-made section

Material protection

More than timber. A protection system.

The challenge with outdoor timber is confidence in its durability. That is why our product is built around a defined treatment process, not just a promise.

1

Kiln drying and preservative treatment

Moisture content is reduced to installation levels, and every element receives a protective treatment.

2

End-grain sealing

End grain, the most vulnerable part of outdoor timber, is sealed with a protective compound.

3

No ground contact

A metal base keeps the elements above ground, while a ventilation gap reduces moisture build-up.

4

Individual element replacement

A damaged component can be replaced without dismantling the section or disrupting the overall design.

Product range

Three ranges for different settings

One structural system, three applications: from park landscaping to illuminated and printed solutions alongside buildings.

Nature range: unpainted vertical birch elements, not machined to a uniform cylindrical profile, with concealed metal rails for parks and nature trails
Nature

Natural texture

A more affordable option: unpainted wooden elements without precision machining to a uniform cylindrical profile. For parks, nature trails and glamping sites.

Urban range: a painted fence with precision-sized wooden cylinders and a pedestrian gate on paving between a playground and a residential car park
Urban

Steel + birch

Residential courtyards, commercial properties, car parks and entrance areas.

Light range: illuminated wooden cylinders with two metal rails visible through the gaps in perspective
Light

Lighting and inserts

Integrated lighting for wayfinding and site branding.

Market positioning

Between standard picket fencing and premium wrought iron

WOODCONTOUR combines natural wood, a concealed steel frame and modular installation. Price on request, depending on order volume and payment terms.

Solution Quality, 1–10 Installation Service life
Metal picket fencing 7.0 2–6 days 20–30 years
Timber picket fencing 6.5 4–10 days 10–25 years
Wood-plastic composite 8.0 3–14 days 20–25 years

Ordering process

From enquiry to installed section

01

Enquiry and project brief

We define the site, perimeter length, height, inserts, lighting requirements and colour scheme.

02

Quotation and visualisation

We recommend Nature, Urban or Light, then provide a visualisation in your site setting and an itemised estimate.

03

Module production

Made to order in 10–21 days: preparation of BirchCore birch elements and assembly of the SteelCore frame.

04

Ready-made section installation

Standardised connections allow one ready-made section to be installed on site in one day.

05

Maintenance guidance

We provide inspection and protective-coating renewal guidance, with separate warranties for the frame, coating and wood.

Applications

Spaces where natural texture makes the difference

Traceable natural materials

Natural timber with documented provenance

Natural birch is at the heart of WOODCONTOUR. It suits parks, nature trails, glamping sites and developers’ ESG communications where the material’s origin can be documented.

Frequently asked questions

Before you order

How long will birch fencing last outdoors?
The target service life is 15–25 years, provided the specified protection measures are followed: kiln drying, preservative treatment, end-grain sealing, a ventilation gap and no ground contact. This is an engineering target to be verified through accelerated weathering tests, not an unconditional lifespan promise.
What is the price per linear metre?
Price on request, depending on order volume and payment terms. Send an enquiry for a tailored quote.
What happens if one element is damaged?
The section is modular. A damaged birch cylinder or insert can be replaced individually without dismantling the entire fence line or disrupting the design.
How long do production and installation take?
Made-to-order production takes 10–21 days, and a ready-made section takes one day to install. A 1–2 m stock module is planned for standard projects, with the aim of reducing lead time to 7–14 days.
What warranty is provided?
Separate warranties apply to the metal frame, protective coating and wooden elements. Inspection and protective-treatment renewal instructions are included.
